  • Educo Switchback Race Track

Entertaining toddlers and adults, (bigger kids), can be just as easy as supplying an Educo Switchback Race Track!  Captivating and colorful, the Switchback Race track will have you and your family rolling down the tracks, mesmerized by the simplicity of design and tumbling cars - no batteries required!  The Switchback Race Track is also a two-laner which means you and a friend could be racing your engines to the finish line, thanks in part to Mr. Gravity.  The checkered flags add to the excitement, and with 4 colorful vehicles to choose from, I'm sure you'll be entertained for hours!  Meant for 18 months & up!

  • History of the Sock Monkey

Did you know that the earliest appearance of the sock monkey can be traced back to 1932. It was in 1932 that the Nelson Knitting Company added their trademarked red-heel to their popular line of seamless socks. The red heel let customers know they were buying the original and best seamless sock on the market.

Once the red heel was added it became easy to spot sock monkey made from socks produced by the Nelson Knitting Company.

It's the red heel that gives sock monkeys the easy to spot red lips that make them stand out from any potential impostors!

Sock Monkeys became so popular that eventually the Nelson Knitting Company included a pattern for how-to make sock monkeys with each pair of socks!

We love sock monkeys here at Blickenstaff's! There are so many new variations to love but the classic will always be our favorite :)

  • Cadbury and Galaxy and Kinder, Oh My!

Everyday is magical here at Blickenstaff's, but one of my favorite behind the scenes things is the arrival of new shipments. There's something strangely satisfying about watching empty shelves become suddenly overflowing with amazing products. I love it!  Oh and I'm also currently in love with Instagram (which is why you'll probably see a lot more photos like this in the days, weeks, months to come)

  • Shoot the Moon!

Can you "shoot the moon"? Stop by Blickenstaff's and test out this classic game! It's a lot harder than it looks!

  • An Almost Plush Story...

Ever thought about the magic that happens at Blickenstaff's while you're not there?  Well I have a story for you!

Once upon a time there was a Plush Horse and Vintage Pooh Bear who lived in a magical place called Blickenstaff's.  They were best of friends and loved roaming past the many vintage wonders of Candy, Soda Pop and Board Games, sometimes settling in for a light afternoon snack...

All was deliciously delightful, until one day, Vintage Pooh Bear found something that caught his eye...

What is it?" he asked himself, "Maybe I'll have just a tad closer look"...

"It was a Moses Baby Basket?!", or.. "so they say", thought he.  The soft textured, playfully colored Moses Baby Basket was exactly what Vintage Pooh Bear needed after filling himself so full of candy and it was just large enough for him to curl into for a nap - "Perfect!", exclaimed Vintage Pooh Bear as his longing eyes filled with sleepiness and relaxing into the basket, he found himself in a very different place...
