Easter Craft Ideas

Easter is around the corner and it’s time to break out the crafting box! These crafts create a wonderful chance to have family time together. What better time than now at the changing of the season?

A Easter Craft for the Whole Family

Make Easter Eggs

This is probably the most obvious idea, but I love it. It was my favorite part of Easter as a child.

Making Easter Eggs is not that difficult. You will just have to get a few things. First, you will need to hard-boil white eggs. Ten to twelve is a good amount.
Make sure to wait until the hard-boiled eggs have cooled before coloring. I would suggest making them the day before you intend to color them.

The Dyeing Process

The dyeing process isn’t very difficult either. Here’s how to do it:
  • Cups filled ¾ way with warm to hot water.
  • 1 tbsp of white vinegar in each cup.
  • Add food-grade dye to cups. 10 to 20 drops. For more vibrant colors, add more.
  • Dip eggs in dye until desired color is reached.
  • Stir eggs here and there for even coloring.
  • Pull eggs out and set sideways on egg carton for drying.
You can get really creative with your designs too. You could have two-toned eggs by placing one side in the dye and then the other side in another. You can use white crayons to create designs before placing them in the dye. It’s always fun to see how your design came out once it’s finished dyeing.

Easter Crafts for the Younger Kids

Popsicle Stick Chicks

Popsicle sticks are incredibly versatile for crafting with kids. These Popsicle Stick Chicks are sure to make for a fun, and vibrant craft idea!

You’ll only need googly eyes, colored paper, and popsicle sticks. It’s sure to get a cluck out of you!

Alternatively, you could use cotton balls instead of popsicle sticks.

Paper Plate Easter Bunnies

What I like most about these paper plate Easter Bunnies is how different you can make each one. If you’ve got tons of craft supplies lying around, this is a good way to use up some!

You’ll need some paper plates, but the rest is up to you. This is something you could let your kids alone to do after cutting the paper plates for them. You could get some of your projects done in the meantime!

Easter Crafts for the Older Kids

Aquabeads

Aquabeads make for a great hands-on craft where children can create essentially anything they want. Children who are less inclined towards creative play won’t be left out because each set comes with templates or you can find printable templates online.

This craft helps build fine motor skills because the beads need to be placed in specific spots for the designs. It’s a great gift for children who are a little bit older.

Be careful of joking hazards though with the small beads.

Easter Carrot Card

These Easter Bunny Carrot cards are adorable!
This craft is for kids who are a little older. This makes for a great craft for children who love to give gifts. You could include some easter themed candy to go along with it and hand them out to friends and/or family!
